Introduction
We built RakitCV because we care about privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and most importantly — what we don't do with your data.
Without an Account: Everything Stays on Your Device
When you use RakitCV without creating an account:
- Your resume is stored in your browser (LocalStorage)
- We cannot see, access, or read your resume
- Your data never leaves your computer or phone
With an Account: Optional Cloud Storage
If you create an account and choose to save to cloud slots:
- Your resume is stored securely on our servers
- This lets you access your resume from any device
- You decide which resumes to save locally vs. cloud
AI Features
When you use AI features (like resume review), your resume content is sent to our AI providers (like Google Gemini) to generate feedback. We don't store these conversations permanently — they're only used to give you immediate feedback.
If RakitCV Is Unavailable or Discontinued
We aim to keep RakitCV available, but no online service can guarantee permanent access. If the website is temporarily unavailable, discontinued, or no longer maintained:
- Resumes stored only in your browser may remain on your device, but you may need the app to be accessible to edit or export them.
- Cloud-stored resumes and account features may become unavailable after the service closes.
- When reasonably possible, we will give advance notice and a way to export your data before permanently shutting down cloud services.
What We Don't Do
We believe in privacy by default. We will never:
- Sell your data to anyone
- Use your resume content to train AI models without permission
- Share your information with third-party advertisers
- Access your locally-stored resumes
